MELIS by NUMO Development wins Ukraine’s leading Architecture Award 2026

The SPA interior at the MELIS hotel developed by NUMO Development, has been named the winner of Ukraine’s leading architecture award, Interior of the Year. Real Estate 2026. The final took place on March 26 at the Parkovy Convention and Exhibition Center in Kyiv, as part of a major investment and construction congress.

MELIS was recognized as the best SPA space of the year — a significant professional milestone for the project and a strong endorsement of the architectural and design solutions delivered by NUMO Development.

The concept and design were created by TEMO Hotel Design, led by CEO and Co-Founder Tetiana Morozova, in collaboration with Chief Designer Olena Afanasenko.
The MELIS SPA concept is built around the metaphor of a “honey forest” — a space where guests not only relax, but fully immerse themselves in a state of calm, restoration, and inner balance.

The space is divided into three functional zones, forming a seamless relaxation journey: the entrance area with a lounge, the pool and bar zone, and the sauna and tea room area.
The entrance welcomes guests with soft, flowing lines, a warm colour palette, natural textures, and signature shades of green that begin to influence the emotional state from the very first moments.

One of the key visual elements is the image of split stone illuminated from within, with light and steam symbolizing the release of energy and a return to inner focus. Walls inspired by honeycomb patterns reinforce the idea of a natural, organic, living structure.

At the heart of MELIS SPA is the pool area, featuring two pools, including an infinity pool, as well as a dedicated children’s zone.

A standout feature of the interior is the wave installation above the pool, creating a sense of continuous movement and synchronizing the guest, water, and space into a unified experience.

The final stage of the journey leads to the sauna and tea room area, designed with natural materials and soft lighting to recreate the atmosphere of a forest and a deep state of relaxation.

This award confirms that MELIS is setting a new benchmark for SPA and wellness spaces in Ukraine’s hospitality sector — where design goes beyond aesthetics and actively shapes human wellbeing and recovery.
