Ribas Invest, Ribas Hotels Group and Pro-Consulting jointly prepared a study of the glamping market in Ukraine and globally, which analysed the current trends and prospects of this segment of tourism.
Tourists from all over the world are increasingly looking for holiday options that minimise the impact on the environment, which stimulates the development of new hotel formats. One of them is glamping (English ‘glamour camping’), which combines elements of comfort and environmental friendliness.

Glamping in Ukraine started to develop only 5 years ago, when the production of lightweight structures was certified. As of 2021, there were about 35 glamping sites in Ukraine, but the outbreak of a full-scale war in 2022 resulted in significant market losses. Many glamping sites were destroyed or relocated.
In 2023, 23 new glamping sites appeared on the Ukrainian market, which confirms the adaptation of business to new conditions and the recovery of interest in domestic tourism. According to the study, as of the beginning of 2024, there were about 60 glamping sites operating in Ukraine.

Glamping as a part of ecotourism has a positive impact on tourist fees in the regions. Such projects are gaining popularity in picturesque places near water, which allows increasing the average cheque by 20-30%. Glamping in Ukraine is located in different regions, in particular in Ivano-Frankivsk, Odessa, Lviv and Zakarpattya regions. The cost of holidays in such complexes varies from 2500 to 4500 UAH per day per night.

The growing popularity of glamping is part of a global trend, where the glamping market in the world in 2023 was estimated at $3.4 billion, and is expected to grow to $10.1 billion by 2033 at an average annual growth rate of 11.5%. The major markets for glamping are the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, China, Japan, Australia, Mexico and UAE.
According to Grand View Research forecasts, the global glamping market will grow by 12.5% in 2025, reaching $4.8 billion. The glamping market in Ukraine is also actively developing: over the last year the number of facilities has increased, and investments in this segment exceeded $100 thousand for individual projects.

Taking into account global trends towards ecotourism and mobile solutions, glamping has great potential to become an important part of Ukraine’s tourism infrastructure. It will contribute to the development of domestic tourism, attraction of foreign visitors and, undoubtedly, economic recovery of the country.
