Learning has always been an important part in everyone's life, but in 2024, this area is taking on a special significance. The world is changing rapidly, and the changes impose new requirements for professional skills and expertise. In this context, learning is becoming not just a development tool but also a prerequisite for survival on today's labor market.

Major learning trends in 2024

  • Online learning and hybrid models. With technological advances and the growth in popularity of remote work, online learning has become a trend. Hybrid learning models that combine online courses with practical training enable students to acquire knowledge from anywhere in the world. Particularly demanded are interactive platforms designed to help students customize their own learning schedule and choose topics that meet their interests and professional needs.
  • Artificial intelligence-based learning. Another key trend is the use of big data and artificial intelligence to personalize learning. After analyzing data on a student’s progress, the learning systems can recommend customized learning plans that match the student’s level of knowledge, learning style and goals. This improves learning performance by reducing the time it takes to master new knowledge and increasing its assimilation. This improves learning performance by reducing the time it takes to master new knowledge and making it easier to consume.
  • Learning through games. Game elements such as levels, points, leaderboards and virtual rewards are increasingly being incorporated into educational platforms. Gamification helps capture learners’ attention and makes the learning process more engaging and motivating. New apps and courses are making the most of this trend to turn learning into an exciting experience.
  • Retraining. Today's labor market requires employees to continuously upgrade their skills to adapt to new conditions. This is particularly true for those who have lost their jobs because of the war and are forced to look for new opportunities. Retraining has become the new normal, enabling people from different industries to succeed in mastering new professions.

Why is retraining is high on the agenda for Ukraine?

The war in Ukraine has left many people unemployed and facing the need to quickly adapt to new realities. For many people, this means the need for retraining to acquire new skills and knowledge that will allow them to change their profession or find a job in another industry.

Given the current situation on the labor market, Ribas Hotels Group, a Ukrainian company that manages hotels in Ukraine and throughout the world, is launching the All-Ukrainian Ribas School of Hospitality. This is a nationwide free program that will create employment opportunities for HoReCa workers and the unemployed in Ukraine through job training and retraining. So anyone from any Ukrainian region can join a blended learning course (online and offline, including on-the-job training) and gain professional skills from scratch, no matter what field they have worked in before. It is worth mentioning that the program is aimed not only at training but also at providing students with the opportunity to be employed as room attendants, waiters, receptionists, restaurant managers and hotel managers.

So learning in 2024 is not just a trend but a vital necessity. This is especially so for those who are looking for new opportunities after losing their jobs. New projects such as the All-Ukrainian Ribas School of Hospitality play a key role in helping people adapt to the new environment by giving them a chance to start a new career path.
