Gratitude Has No Expiry Date”: Ribas Hotels Group Supports Vladyslav Heraskevych
At the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina, Ukrainian skeleton athlete Vladyslav Heraskevych took to the start wearing a helmet bearing the portraits of more than 20 Ukrainian athletes killed as a result of Russian aggression. The IOC disqualified him 21 minutes before the competition. Heraskevych knew this would happen. And still, he did not remove the helmet.
It was an act that went far beyond sport. The faces of the fallen were seen by the entire world.
For Ribas Hotels Group, this was a moment when standing aside was impossible. The company gifted Vladyslav a lifetime subscription to stays at the hotel chain’s properties. On their social media, the company communicated this with the following words:
“Because gratitude has no expiry date. Because memory lasts forever. And also because behind great strength, there must stand great support. When you step onto the world stage with the names of the fallen on your helmet — that is more than sport. It is character, it is dignity, it is Ukraine. And we want you to always have a place where you can recover, breathe, and gather strength for new starts.”
