The five-star hotel is located in the heart of Odessa near the Opera and Ballet Theater, and just a few minutes’ walk from Primorsky Boulevard and the City Council. In different directions from the hotel, but in the same proximity to it, there are the famous Deribasivska Street, Duke Monument and Potemkin Stairs.
The building of the Ribas Duke hotel was built in 1905 according to the project of the architect L.M. Chernihiv for home owner Bekel. The facade of the building is made in the Art Nouveau style. Along the central axis of the building, above the window openings of the third floor, the viewer is presented with an exciting stucco bas-relief plot image. The building is an object of cultural heritage.
Tchaikovsky Alley, where the hotel is located, used to be called Teatralny. And for good reason. After all, in this cozy alley, the Theater of the Young Spectator (house No. 12) was located at one time, and even earlier the Variety Theater and still at the address of prov. Tchaikovsky, 1, the Odessa Theater of Opera and Ballet is located.
In this legendary lane, during their stay in Odessa, prominent personalities of their time lived, such as K.D. Ushinsky, composer N. Lysenko, writers Yu.K. Olesha and A.P. Chekhov, and of course, Pyotr Tchaikovsky himself.
